Thankfully all of the athletes are “safe and unharmed.”

Gold medal-winner Ryan Lochte and three other members of the U.S. Olympics swimming team were reportedly robbed at gunpoint in Rio. According to a statement by the U.S. Olympic Committee, Lochte, Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and Jimmy Feigen were stopped by people posing as armed police “who demanded money and other personal belongings” on their way back from a party at the French Olympic team’s hospitality house in a taxi. Thankfully all four athletes are ”safe and unharmed,” as confirmed by Lochte’s Twitter account. Initial reports of the robbery were denied by the International Olympic Committee.
