Brooklyn's Lo-Life Crew Talks Ralph Lauren with Fox News
Thirstin’ Howl the 3rd on the crew’s origins.
Fresh off the release of their Tom Gould-photographed book, Bury Me With The Lo On, The Lo-Life Crew and Thirstin’ Howl the 3rd sat down with Fox News to talk about how it all began. Born to the streets of Brownsville, Brooklyn, activities like sailing, polo and horse-riding might as well have existed on another planet, however Ralph Lauren and its Polo diffusion line served as a portal to these distance worlds for New York’s youth. The interest in the brand quickly turned into a fixation and later a way of life, providing a rare sense of camaraderie among those involved. Soon after, The Lo-Life Crew began influencing the far-off regions of hip-hop, helping to spark the relationship we see now between the musically-driving culture and high-fashion.
The Lo-Life Crew’s story is hardly new to us, but it’s exciting to see major news outlets finally covering their impact on fashion and music.
