N.HOOLYWOOD Looks to the Depths of the Deep Sea for Its Spring 2017 Collection
Functional, yet beautifully dark.

For its Spring 2017 collection, N.HOOLYWOOD looked to the deep sea for artistic inspiration. Fascinated by the ecosphere’s natural light and breadth of colors not typically seen on land, lead designer Daisuke Obana set out to create a collection brimming with functionality, yet filled with a mysterious beauty, comparable of that found in the darkest depths of the ocean. Set to a somber color palette of heavyset blacks and greys, the fashion label seamlessly incorporated splashes of copper and silver, as was often found in vintage ’40s diving gear. In keeping to this underwater theme, the range features key pieces such as bomber-style jackets, hoodies and backpacks that playfully mimic the aesthetics of a wetsuit.
