Hiroshi Fujiwara Goes Through His Favorite Films
“The future becomes the past when you live for long enough …”

Hiroshi Fujiwara recently sat down with 12-year-old Rio Harada to talk about his favorite films in his publication Ring of Colour. The natural-born cinephile and son of former chairman of Sony Music Artists Koichi Harada, has seen over 600 films already in his young life. If it wasn’t obvious enough, the young Harada dreams of one day becoming a film director. How he became friends with Fujiwara is through Harada’s father, and often the pair will go see films together.
The two discuss personal favorites from Star Wars to Dial M for Murder, to classics such at Silence of the Lambs and recent hit Mad Max: Fury Road, before moving on to inspirational directors such as Hitchcock and Spielberg. The two also talk about movie items they wish existed in the real world, like Back to the Future‘s hoverboard and Blade Runner‘s artificial owl. Harada then states he would like to direct a science-fiction with Fujiwara promising to make the background music for the film.
