Now's Your Turn to Take This 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster Around the Block
#veryrare.
Initially the cheapest model in the 356 line up, Porsche’s Speedster quickly became one of the most coveted midcentury models with its sleek and sporty styling, making it the model choice for sports car enthusiasts. Overall the Speedster was built in rather modest numbers, with just 3677 examples produced between 1955 and 1959, but the 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster is incredibly rare with only 22 ever built. This particular example was delivered to its first owner in Australia, then saw a move to England in 2012. Originally outfitted with a MPH speedometer and a correct 1600cc flat-4 engine, at the time of the restoration the original matching number engine and gearbox were painstakingly rebuilt and the colour was carefully matched to original specification using the correct factory formula.
