The Latest 'Star Trek Beyond' Trailer Reveals More Plot and Characters
The film will premiere on IMAX at Comic-Con.
After little publicity following its initial trailer release back in December, the second preview for Star Trek Beyond is finally here, with much more character-driven snippets. Launched at a fan event on Friday in Los Angeles, the trailer sees the Enterprise get destroyed as the crew must find their way back to each other. Additionally, we see Idris Elba playing an alien villain while Captain Kirk, played by Chris Pine, contemplates his role as a leader. The film also stars John Cho, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto, Zoë Saldana, Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin.
Director Justin Lin announced during the event that the film will premiere at San Diego’s Comic-Con outdoors on IMAX, accompanied by a live orchestra. Watch the trailer above and catch Star Trek Beyond in theaters wide starting July 22.
