Shia LaBeouf Will Play the Famously Ill-Tempered Tennis Player John McEnroe in Upcoming Biopic

Considering Shia Labeouf’s career and presence, it is no surprise to see he has been casted to play the notoriously temperamental tennis great, John McEnroe in an upcoming Borg/McEnroe biopic. The film follows the intense rivalry between McEnroe, and Swedish tennis player Bjorn Borg (played by Sverrir Gudnason) during the ’70s and ’80s. Though McEnroe is remembered as being one of the greatest tennis players of all time, he is also remembered for having one of the worst tempers on the court. He would often be seen getting into shouting matches with the referee, or aggressively swinging his racket at inanimate objects on the sidelines. Directed by Janus Metz, the film is expected to debut in theaters in 2017.
