A Look at the Olivier Rousteing x NikeLab Sneaker Collection
“What I love about this collection is that we are integrating the iconic style of football into sport style.”
French fashion designer Olivier Rousteing is mixing his runway aesthetic with a performance atmosphere thanks to an upcoming collaboration with NikeLab. Inspired by a love of football that dates back to his childhood, Rousteing assists NikeLab in introducing the “Football Nouveau Collection.” The combination of black and gold is a nod to being timeless along with a victorious attitude that Nike strives for as a brand. Throughout the footwear’s selection you’ll witness the transition of football’s traditional performance look with a lifestyle twist added in.
The footwear’s range is comprised of the Footscape Magista which removes its lateral and medial Swoosh branding for a minimal take on the silhouette. In addition a gold metallic zipper is added to its heel for a touch of luxury. The Free Mercurial Flyknit also hosts a gold metallic zipper on its heel along with leather pull tabs. Its black Flyknit upper provides added comfort along with a gold detailing to complement its lifestyle look.
Two more silhouettes make up the collection in the Roshe Tiempo VI and the Free Hypervenom 2, each of which are upgraded editions of popular on-field silhouettes. Each feature a black-dominated upper with gold accents throughout such as its piping and Swoosh branding, respectively.
Pieces from the NikeLab x Olivier Rousteing: Football Nouveau Collection will begin to release on June 2 online and at select NikeLab locations.
