Google Takes VR to New Heights by Unveiling 'Daydream', Powered by Android
An upgrade to its Cardboard predecessor.
Virtual Reality has just received an upgrade thanks to Google’s newest tech addition. The company’s latest tech installment is powered by Android N. and aims to dig deeper into VR than ever before. Daydream will operate via hardware/software and will only be compatible alongside phones with distinct details such as unique sensors and screens.
Stepping up from its previous disposable headset known as Cardboard which released two years ago, Google has announced distinct VR editions of YouTube, the Google Play Store, Google Photos, Play Movies and Street View.
According to Google, Daydream-ready phones along with VR viewers and motion controllers will be available this Fall on eight confirmed partners being Samsung, HTC, LG, Huawei, ZTE, Asus, Alcatel and Xiaomi.
