The First Full Trailer for the R-Rated 'Batman: The Killing Joke' Is Here
“The madness begins.”
Following a brief teaser earlier this month, DC’s The Killing Joke now has its first full-length trailer. An animated, R-rated adaptation of Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s iconic 1988 graphic novel, The Killing Joke offers a harrowing origin story for the Clown Prince of Crime and is especially notable for its violence — including the Joker’s shooting of Commissioner Gordon’s daughter, Barbara, whose subsequent paralysis laid the groundwork for the development of her Oracle persona.
Reuniting acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series co-stars Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as Batman and the Joker, respectively, The Killing Joke is currently slated for a July release.
