This New App Turns 3D Printing Into Child's Play
Now anyone with an iPad can enjoy the benefits of this newfangled technology.
3D printing has always held an air of technical complexity, requiring an intimate of knowledge of CAD programs and a bulky and expensive 3D printer to create even the simplest product. However, a new startup aims to make 3D printing so easy that even a child can partake in its wonders. Called Gravity Sketch, the startup will first launch its service in the form of an iPad app that functions as a platform that simplifies the process of 3D modeling and requires no prior experience — users can seemingly create complicated shapes within minutes with all but a series of intuitive gestures.
The London-based startup has also partnered with 3D printing business Shapeways so that users can order their designs to be printed in plastic, metal or ceramic and delivered to them, making the benefits of the technology available to everyone from design students to professional craftspeople. Launching tomorrow, you can find more information on Gravity Sketch online here.
