Frank Muytjens’s latest menswear collection for J. Crew is inspired by a trove of horse blankets that the designer discovered while in the ideation phase, and that undercurrent of comfort and nonchalance shines through. The collection features classic staples like cropped camel-coats and herringbone topcoats placed alongside trendier, more fashion-forward pieces like a maroon bomber jacket. The collection’s knitwear features a rustic palette and slouchier fits. Pajama piping is strewn throughout, as a reminder of the designer’s cozy ambitions, while chunky knits and belted cardigans reinforce the collection’s comfort factor. Also featured throughout are tweed crushers, toques, and several silken tuxedo scarves.
