This Newly Unveiled Amazon Go Store Has No Lines or Registers
A full-blown “Just Walk Out Shopping” experience.
This past October, Amazon announced that it may be opening physical grocery stores as part of its extended AmazonFresh service. Now, the aforesaid rumors have finally quelled with the online shopping stalwart’s announcement of its first Amazon Go convenience store. The futuristic brick-and-mortar features a full-blown “Just Walk Out Shopping” experience with fully-equipped computer vision and sprawled out sensors and touts “no lines, no checkouts, no registers.” Shoppers simply check in at the entrance using their Amazon Go account, fill their shopping bags with desired items and immediately head out of the store. The first store is located in Seattle with presumably more openings to follow in major cities.
