Michael Jordan Presents Russell Westbrook at Oklahoma Hall of Fame Induction
Following in Kevin Durant’s footsteps.
Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame on Thursday night, with former NBA star Michael Jordan presenting him for induction. The G.O.A.T. of basketball took time out of his busy schedule to support Jordan Brand’s most active high-profile athlete, also complimenting Westbrook for his loyalty to the Thunder. Jordan also said that he’s a fan of Westbrook, and he is reminded of himself when he sees Westbrook’s passion for the game. Westbrook joins former Thunder teammate Kevin Durant in the hall, along with just a handful of other sports figures who have been enshrined. Watch Westbrook’s full speech below. Jordan stated:
“Another thing you guys should be proud of is the sense of loyalty this kid has shown. I’m not here to try and bash anybody that’s not here. Everybody has a choice. I’m not saying everybody doesn’t have a choice. But when I saw he chose to stay in Oklahoma, I was so proud, and as [Thunder owner] Clay [Bennett] knows and Russ knows, I texted him to show a sense of respect.”
