NEIGHBORHOOD Updates the Classic USAF "Line Crewman" Jacket
This one is a head-turner.
Famous for its motorcycle-inspired streetwear staples, NEIGHBORHOOD consistently draws from the rugged aesthetic of vintage Americana subcultures and fuses it with a glossing of high-end sophistication. For Fall/Winter 2016, the brand chose to update a rare but classic U.S. Air Force military garment known as the Line Crewman Flying Jacket, which when wore reversed, revealed a black and orange checkerboard pattern. NEIGHBORHOOD updates the original jacket’s clean silhouette and loud pattern by using a satiny material and inflating the body with filling and accentuating diagonal stitching.
The NEIGHBORHOOD CHECKER/N-JKT jacket is available in two colors — a yellow/olive version similar to the USAF original and a black/white iteration. The jacket is releasing in November at select NEIGHBORHOOD stockists and online. It will retail for ¥69,120 JPY (approximately $671 USD).
