Hublot Taps Ferrari for a Limited-Edition Big Bang
The Prancing Horse meets the LVMH-owned Swiss watchmaker.
The Prancing Stallion meets Hublot this month as Ferrari and the Swiss watchmaker have revealed a collection of collaborative timepieces. Unveiled at the Italian automotive favorite’s Maranello factory, the limited-edition release comes in the form of a customized take on the Big Bang. Available in titanium, carbon fiber, and “King Gold,” the luxury piece, naturally, takes cues from Ferrari’s automotive designs — specifically the La Ferrari, F12 TDF and the GTC4 Lusso — and includes details like a tachometer-inspired minute counter and date window along with bright red accents throughout.
“This watch is the natural result of the synergy between the Ferrari design team and Hublot, since we met many times to design each singe detail,” said Flavio Manzoni, senior vice-president of Ferrari design. “This kind of collaboration brings us fresh air, because we can use our creative vision to design something completely different from a car even if there are common points between the two worlds. It’s a way to use our multi-disciplinary approach.”
The titanium, carbon fiber, and “King Gold” pieces are limited to 1,000, 500, and 500 productions, respectively, and will go for $26,200 USD, $28,300 USD and $42,000 USD when they launch at Hublot flagships in January of 2017.
