The New Technics SL-1200G Turntable Arrives With Completely Revamped Components

At the start of the year, we reported on Technics’ new plans for its SL-1200 turntables, the SL-1200G and SL-1200GAE. Now available for a “hefty price-tag” of $4,000 USD, the SL-1200G’s first round of shipments have begun to arrive at retailers. “It’s a new model from scratch. Everything is new… except for the dust cover,” Technics CTO Tetsuya Itani said when initially explaining the new SL-1200G to What Hi-Fi?. While the model has received much press for its cost, there’s also a strong possibility of a cheaper model seeing release in the future.
