Thanks to a new video made by kaptainkristian, we have a fun, creative analysis of how Spawn paved the way for Image Comics. Created by Canadian graphic novel artist/writer Todd McFarlane, the video shows us how Spawn opened up conversations for the new generation of creators, who were being put in the back seat by companies such as Marvel. Marvel president Terry Stewart even stated, “The importance of the creative people must always be secondary to the characters.” With the industry’s backward thinking, see how McFarlane – alongside the industries best – went on to create Image Comics (which is also home to The Walking Dead) and McFarlane Toys.
