LVMH Kicks off Third Annual Prize for Aspiring Young Designers
The fast-track to fashion stardom.
The annual LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers is back for its third edition. The newest fashion prize will be presided over by the industry’s biggest names — Jonathan Anderson (of J.W.Anderson), Nicolas Ghesquière (of Louis Vuitton), Marc Jacobs (of eponymous brand), Karl Lagerfeld (of Chanel and Fendi), Humberto Leon and Carol Lim (of Opening Ceremony), Phoebe Philo (of Celine), and Riccardo Tisci (of Givenchy).
The prize award is a yearlong mentorship by an in-house team at LVMH and $325,000 USD, not to mention the kudos and recognition by the largest powerhouses in fashion — an endorsement highly coveted among young designers in the industry. For context, the 2015 winner was Marques’Almeida who beat out American finalist, OFF-WHITE’s very own Virgil Abloh.
