Junya Watanabe's 2016 Fall/Winter Collection Centers on Outerwear
All about the coats.
The crispness in Junya Watanabe’s coat-heavy collection is an avant-garde interpretation of modern outerwear. Clean-cut double-breasted coats and offerings of aluminum-lined coats (some equipped with solar paneling) in various textures and patterns are presented alongside stovepipe pants and denim of minimal patches. The penchant for eccentricity, a reminder of former mentor, Rei Kawakubo, is seen in the mod pageboy cuts and ushanka hats. Perfect for the winter.
