3.1 Phillip Lim's 2016 Fall/Winter Lookbook Is a Look Back on the Fifties
With graphic art inspired by ukiyo-e.
Skipping the runway, Phillip Lim decided to show his fall/winter collection in a much more intimate setting. Held in an art gallery and having one-on-one appointments, the designer decorated the space as if it were a small living room with modernist furniture and pop art. The 3.1 Phillip Lim man for this season is eclectic, and wanted to have a bit of fun with his wardrobe. Pieces boasted graphic art inspired by ukiyo-e, a genre of art that was popular in Japan until the ’30s. Chunky cardigans, leather jackets and nostalgic designs among some eye-catching patterns.
