Now the latest innovation in athletics comes from Wilson with it’s X Connected Basketball and accompanying smartphone application. Using an embedded sensor, this basketball tallies your makes and misses, distinguishing two-pointers, threes and free throws from one another, then sending them to your phone for analysis. Additional features include shooting drills, real-time commentators and social media integration. However, the Wilson X does come with a few setbacks: it’s currently only available on iPhones, and because it doesn’t need charging it will only last up to 100,000 shots.
