Hood By Air’s Shayne Oliver and Arca Reveals 'Wench'
An immersive audio and visual repertoire presented at Spring/Summer 2016 NYFW.
A collaborative effort between two groundbreaking artists in their own respective realms, Shayne Oliver of Hood By Air has teamed up with Venezuelan-via-London producer and Yeezus collaborator Arca on an immersive audio and visual repertoire. This production is a cut from the duo’s forthcoming album, Wench. While little has surfaced on who’ll be feature on the album and its release date, the 15-minute video directed by Jesse Kanda above, provides a glimpse to what the project will hold. A cohesive blend of samples from modern hit records by Fatboy Slim, Cher , t.A.T.U., Arthur Russell and Cher, lyrics are distorted in distinctly melancholic ways and complements a hypnotically bizarre footage of buildings crumbling and bridges in flames. Projected at this season’s New York Fashion Week, the piece is the duo’s first harvest from their esoteric project.
