Matiere, the French word for material, is a two-year-old fashion brand founded with the goal to combine innovative fabrics and modern silhouettes through clean, understated designs. For its 2015 fall/winter collection, the California-based brand blends technical sportswear and urban-chic styling with a wide-range of fabrics, including a Japanese cotton-blend herringbone, Alpaca fleece, and cashmere cotton blends. Highlights from the seasonal range include an Italian wool bomber jacket, a plaid tri-blend textured tunic, and an acid-washed, three-layer bonded patchwork jacket.
