BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® Artisan Series 2015: Kristine Mays Creates Life Through Wirework
Get inspired and submit your artwork to the BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® Artisan Series today.
A few weeks back, we reported upon an exciting new avenue for visual artists to gain ground in the highly competitive field by means of the BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® Artisan Series 2015. In it’s sixth year, the Artisan Series offers a platform for artists to expose their work to a wider audience and have it exhibited at upcoming high profile SCOPE Art Shows, beginning at SCOPE Miami Beach 2015 in December and SCOPE NY 2016 in March.
Last year’s Grand Prize winner was Kristine Mays. Her artwork, centering around wire sculpture, is both visually striking and incredibly intricate. The San Francisco-native gives us a tour of her process, what her artwork allows her to do, and how she “breathes life into wire.” Her masterpieces can be seen in the hands of collectors across the U.S. and prominently throughout the Bay area, even collaborating with muralist Shawn Bullen to help decorate a veteran venue located in the historic Fillmore District.
Think you’re the next big name in visual arts? Submit a piece or a body of work to find out. The BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® Artisan Series is continually accepting submissions at bombayartisan.com until August 23, so be sure to take the opportunity now.
