Iconic 1956 Ferrari 250 "Tour de France" up for Auction
A racing classic available for the first time in 23 years.
An ultra-rare 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione is to be auctioned at Sotheby’s Monterey auction this summer. One of only 14 made and endowed with a rich racing history that includes belonging to Marquis Alfonso de Portago, a Spanish nobleman and racer who rose to prominence in the early 1950s, the car comes in a minimalist French blue paint-job and is expected to fetch in excess of $11 million USD when sold later this month.
