A Look Into Thomas Øvlisen's Exclusive Streetmachine Collaboration

Having garnered a solid reputation for steadily promoting art within the realm of skateboarding, Danish multi-brand store Streetmachine has teamed up with fellow countryman Thomas Øvlisen to deliver a capsule collection of limited edition skateboards. Inspired by Øvlisen’s distinct affiliation towards simulating the aesthetic of used cars, each piece was printed from a multi-layered painting that has been repetitively sanded down to achieve the final result. Subtly referencing Dan Colen’s Supreme collaborations, Øvlisen works with a combination of automobile lacquer, epoxy and enamel paints that are manually worn down to produce a unique product with markings representative of a specific artistic process. The Thomas Øvlisen and Streetmachine capsule collection is available from today in limited quantities for $67 USD each from the store’s official website.
