Most of the time a song’s description mentions the phrase “music’s next power couple,” you should probably take it with a grain of salt. However, for this new one from Victoria Monet and Tommy Brown, “power couple” legitimately applies. On their own, the pair have dominated the songwriting and production game. Together, they’ve already cooked up one of the more impressive pop/R&B offerings of 2015. Now, they’ve united once more for a well-constructed, moody piece entitled “See the Light.” Speaking to FADER, Monet describes today’s drop as such:
“‘See The Light’ is a song about sharing those feelings with someone special who understands where you’re coming from. After all, those bad days help you appreciate the best days.”
Currently, “See the Light” stands as the third track released in support of Monet’s forthcoming EP, Nightmares & Lullabies: Act II. You can give “See the Light” a spin above. Monet’s new EP will be out on June 16.
