Sardinia, Italy recently hosted the Murartista Street Art Festival, which drew plenty of creative talent to the beautiful Mediterranean island. One noteworthy piece that was erected that weekend was created by renowned Belgian artist ROA, who took to covering an entire wall of a building in the quaint town of Sadali. ROA’s monochromatic-toned mural aligns with the graffiti artist’s distinct animal themes and features a black-and-white boar that faces a boar skull it is attached to by rope. While the piece honors the Sardinian wild boar, which is characterized for its compact head and stubby legs, the boar and skull also signify the endless cycle and perpetual relationship between life and death.
