Marc Jacobs 2016 Spring/Summer Collection
Karl Aberg’s new collection tinged with androgyny and stellar layering for the cultured man.

Marc Jacobs‘ menswear designer Karl Aberg took a distinctively mellow run at spring’s collection, resulting in a melange of precious materials and textures that definitely herald images of retro’s heyday. With velvet slacks, jackets and cashmere mixed in with silk and pajama-inspired tops, the Marc Jacobs man also doesn’t mind stepping out in a kimono. Continuing with blurring gender lines, androgyny is highlighted with Asiatic pieces donning blossoms and silhouettes that could easily translate into a woman’s wardrobe. And with the news of the now-defunct Marc by Marc Jacobs line integrating into the parent Marc Jacobs line, Aberg is unfazed. “Gradually we are going to encompass more, I think, stretching it further. I’m really excited about it because it’s fun product and real stuff that’s maybe a bit less precious, which is a good thing,” so we’re definitely in for more with upcoming seasons.
