If turning bikini tops into flags from conquered lands didn’t define the mood for Christopher Shannon‘s 2016 spring/summer collection, then his closeout song — Sisqo’s “Thong Song” — surely established the overarching theme. The London designer’s subversive aesthetic meets a young vacationing man’s debauchery with his hallmark billowing silhouettes, seams that have been literally taped together, florescent accent colors and sheer shirting. While the sliced-and-diced outerwear and lighter-adorning knitwear caught our attention, we couldn’t help but focus in on Shannon’s latest collaborative footwear release with CAT. Hopefully we’ll see more of their joint effort in the coming weeks, so be sure to stay tuned.
