It has been reported that Apple is looking to pay Drake $19 million USD to appear on iTunes Radio as a guest DJ. With Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference scheduled next week, the tech giant has been visiting major record labels in hopes of securing artists for its upcoming streaming service. Apart from the Toronto rapper, Apple is reportedly also in pursuit of exclusive content with David Guetta and Pharrell Williams. In an effort to entice customers to use iTunes Radio, Apple is offering a free three-month trial before charging $10/month for the service. Additionally, Apple is hoping that record labels will comply and offer music free of charge for that duration. Stay tuned for an official announcement at Apple’s WWDC next week, but check out HYPETRAK for more music-related news.
