AMI balances luxury sportswear with elegant outerwear for spring 2016.
Paris-based label AMI has just debuted its collection for spring/summer 2016. Alexandre Mattiussi’s contemporary label continues to forge its own sportswear-tinged aesthetic, mixing in expertly crafted outerwear silhouettes to offer a balanced, complete range. At certain points, AMI mixes traditional track jackets with blazers, cropped sweatpants with broad-knit sailor sweaters and shorts with crisply tailored button-ups to convey this ease-of-wear. At other points though, Mattiussi reveals straight-up tailoring separates, which are still built with a sense of playfulness and whimsy.
