After a preview late last month, Tony Ferguson’s RONE imprint is finally ready to take the wraps off of its inaugural footwear silhouette for this season moving forward. The anticipated brand is a summation of Ferguson’s experiences in skateboarding as they attest to modern footwear. Accordingly, the silhouettes are informed at a genuine street level, but constructed to play with the most luxurious offerings on the market. For the first collection, Ferguson looked back to skateboarding culture in the 1980s and early 1990s, harping on his very first skate shoe and re-imagining it for modern times. The result is the Eighty-Six, which is carefully hand-built with naturally-tanned black Italian leather and touched with contrast stitching through the upper. These features rest atop a Goodyear-welted outsole, with a handmade cork midsole crafted for a truly custom-molded fit. Also offered with a grey suede upper (another nod at skateboarding), the Eighty-Six will arrive at select retailers such as colette in August. For now, head over to RONE’s brand site and Instagram page to get familiar with this exciting new entrant to the footwear market.
