A 'Top Gun' Sequel Is Officially in the Works
Hollywood’s latest outdated project to receive the popular, modernized sequel revamp, coming to a theater near you.

David Ellison of Skydance production company has confirmed to UK’s The Guardian paper that there will in fact be a new Top Gun movie, starring none other than the film’s original protagonist, Tom Cruise as Maverick. Details are sparse, considering the project has not reached the early production phase yet, but Ellison has provided noteworthy details concerning the upcoming installment. Justin Marks is writing the screenplay, which will center on today’s culturally relevant clash between manned and unmanned aircrafts operating in the Navy. In Ellison’s words, “There is an amazing role for Maverick in the movie and there is no Top Gun without Maverick, and it is going to be Maverick playing Maverick.” Stay tuned for future updates regarding the movie’s progress.
