To say that Questlove has a wealth of musical knowledge seems like a gross understatement when considering all his accomplishments. From his work as drummer for Grammy-winning band The Roots — who also serve as the in-house band for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon — to his production credits for artists including Elvis Costello, Common, D’Angelo, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Bilal, JAY Z, Nikka Costa, Al Green, Amy Winehouse and John Legend, his endeavors have established him as one of music’s biggest players and one of the most trusted sources in the world on all things music.
He recently brought his knowledge (and his turntables) down to Cuba on a mission to bring goodwill and good music to the people there. Quest’s trip comes at an interesting time, considering that diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Cuba have drastically improved as of late, with travel and import-export restrictions that stood for a number of years being lifted. Check out the footage from the trip above.
