Marina Abramović Institute Apologizes to JAY Z

Recently, Marina Abramović recently spoke with Spike Art Magazine telling them that she was upset that JAY Z did not go through with his promise to donate to her institute as a returning favor for her appearance in his “Picasso Baby” video. She had shared that she was “very pissed by this since he adapted [her] work only under one condition: that he would help [her] institute. Which he didn’t.” The FADER now reports that there was a miscommunication; Hov did in fact make a donation, Abramović was simply not aware of it. Read their apology below:

“We are sincerely sorry to both Marina Abramović and Shawn ‘JAY Z’ Carter for this, and since then we have taken appropriate actions to reconcile this matter.”
