Located within a gated community far removed from the urban center of Brasilia sits the Malva House, a single-storey residence with a unique design that makes the most of its small plot of land. The structure is constructed around a central courtyard, complete with a patio and swimming pool, with the wood-clad living room opening directly into the outdoor space and grilling area. This open concept is evident throughout the house as miniature gardens filled with greenery allow ample amounts of natural sunlight and ventilation to flood indoors and through the uninterrupted organization of the social rooms. Massive glass bricks in the private hall wall allow small views of the courtyard, while the alternating schemes of exposed concrete pillars and solid red bricks result in a distinctive modern feel.
