In Forbes’ second annual list of the wealthiest hip-hop artists, not much seems to have changed in the past year as many of the genre’s typical names come as no big surprises. Topping the list is Diddy with $735 million USD, much of it thanks to his lucrative investments in a variety of industries, with names such as Ciroc, Sean John and Aquahydrate (among more). But Diddy isn’t the only hyphenated millionaire on the list, with Dr. Dre a close second at $700 million USD thanks to his ubiquitous Beats headphone line that he sold to Apple. However, 50 Cent made the only jump, closing in on spot number four and beating out Birdman in the race to be hip-hop’s wealthiest. The list is rounded out with Jay Z taking the number three spot.
