Australian retailer Deus Ex Machina has teamed up with artisan bootmaker Oak Street for a slick

Australian retailer Deus Ex Machina has teamed up with artisan bootmaker Oak Street for a slick Horween Chromexcel Boot. Horween Chromomexcel leather is renowned for its painstaking treatment and production process, which includes undergoing 89 separate processes in a 28 day period: Food-grade beef tallow, cosmetic-grade beeswax, marine oil, chrome salts, tree bark extracts and naturally occurring pigments are combined, while the mixture is applied using heat, steam pressure and, of course, human hands. This results in the amazingly supple and durable leather that has become a standard for footwear around the world. The collaborative boot is an adaptation of Oak’s Trench Boot style, and features Dainite outsoles, Goodyear welt construction and an elongated cap toe. The Deus Ex Machina x Oak Street Bootmakers Horween Chromexcel Boot is available now for a price of $449.99 AUD (approximately $350 USD).
