Western Australia has been a breeding ground for forward-thinking music, birthing acts such as Tame Impala, Luke Steele and San Cisco to name a few. Perth, one of the world’s most isolated cities, certainly marks no exception here. With his various creative projects, Perth native and HYPETRAK staple Ta-ku has proved as of late that creative ouptut cannot be constrained by distance, leading the pack of Australian artists emerging from down under. For the new track “No Reason,” Ta-ku teams up with fellow west coast artist Loston, who garnered acclaim for his recent reworks of London Grammar and Sampha. “No Reason” sees both artists team up to combine intricate keys and soaring vocal samples and weave a colourful and vast landscape, before erupting into a crescendo of ringing floor toms and syncopated synth lines.
