Locationally, Hawaii is best described as somewhere between Japan and the Western Coast of the United States. Striking a perfect balance between the two cultures, Hollywood-based atelier Mister Freedom taps Japanese label SUN SURF for its expertise in Hawaiian shirts, offering a new collection for Spring/Summer 2015. Instead of the palm trees and hula girl themes traditionally found on such fare though, Mister Freedom adds a mainland touch to the breezy silhouettes with the juxtaposition of vintage racecars and wave surfers. The shirts themselves are composed of a soft rayon/cotton blend and detailed with authentic Corozo wood buttons, all chain-stitched together for a certain vintage appeal. An essential disruption to T-shirts and long-sleeved button-downs for the summer, head over to Mister Freedom’s website to pick up one of these limited-edition pieces.
