This week marks the debut of the latest endeavor from Aimé Leon Dore as the brand presents its “NY NAVY” collection — conceptual capsule release in transition between winter and spring. Comprised of 22 pieces that include everything from flight jackets, bombers, waffle T-shirts, and graphic tees to popovers, crew neck pullovers, hoodies, cargo pants, twill pants and shorts, sweat shorts, and beanies, the New York City-made range is heavily influenced by the military — the Navy in particular. The concept took shape over the course of the past year ad founder and designer Teddy Santis decided to craft a range that draws upon the extreme parallels between his birthplace, the Big Apple, and the United States Navy. The results demonstrate an emphasis not only on quality, but on comfort and functionality as well as innovative new designs like ribbed cargo shorts are joined by Canadian-milled French terry and an array of Japanese fabrics.
Aimé Leon Dore’s “NY NAVY” collection will be available exclusively at the brand’s 179 Mott Street concept store April 9-13 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. before hitting AimeLeonDore.com on April 13.
