St. Vincent – Teenage Talk (Full Version)
Multi-talented Oklahoma musician St. Vincent premiered her latest single on the hit HBO program
Multi-talented Oklahoma musician St. Vincent premiered her latest single on the hit HBO program Girls; but now the track has finally begun circulating online.
Having been on the music scene since the mid noughts, St. Vincent, otherwise known as Anne Erin, is a veteran in the music game, with her music being widely acknowledged.
Her most recent, self-titled album was presented in 2014, and since then has garnered some serious praise, with her upbeat sound, and wise lyricism.
“Teenage Talk” presents a different sound for the singer, with nostalgia seeping through the summary Blur-esque melody, and into her memory-filled lyrics. The track does, lend itself well to a ‘soundtrack’ status; yet there’s something more complex in the message. Perhaps the track is an indirect comment on St. Vincent’s time in the music industry; something which affords her the ability to reflect on teenage times with wisdom, and understanding.
It’s a more restrained sound, but it’s one which suits an optimistic Spring release perfectly, and one which proves that St Vincent is very much present on the scene.
“That’s just teenage talk, I don’t think the past is better, better.”
