This time around, Sufjan takes a minimalistic approach with his latest album Carrie & Lowell, flaunting no more than a soft guitar, piano and a voice that is just above a whisper. This project, as depicted on the album cover and title, is dedicated to his mother and stepfather, who had heavily impacted him in his upbringing as well as in his professional work as a musician.
