It has been just over a year since the privacy-centric Blackphone hit the market. Now, Silent Circle revealed a follow-up to the device called Blackphone 2, along with a tablet iteration. The Blackphone 2 sports a 5.5-inch HD display, 3,060mAh battery, and a faster processor than its predecessor, along with 3GB of RAM. Another notable change is the phone’s shift from a plastic casing to an all-glass front and rear. Details of the tablet are sparse, but what we do know is that it will be called the Blackphone+ and will have a 7-inch display, along with all the privacy features unique to the PrivateOS 1.1 operating system. The Blackphone 2 is slated to drop in the second half of 2015 and will retail for $649 USD.
