Robin Thicke & Pharrell Are Appealing the "Blurred Lines" Decision
So, there’s a chance Robin Thicke and Pharrell may not have to give the Gaye family $7.4 million

So, there’s a chance Robin Thicke and Pharrell may not have to give the Gaye family $7.4 million dollars. “We are going to exercise every post trial remedy we have to make sure this verdict does not stand,” Howard E. King, Pharrell and Thicke’s attorney, told FOX Business’s Liz Claman yesterday. Considering the money and high-powered legal teams involved, the fact that Pharrell and Robin Thicke would fight and attempt to appeal the verdict makes sense. King told Claman that him and his team “owe it to songwriters around the world to make sure this verdict doesn’t stand,” and calls the trial’s outcome “a bad precedent” and “a horrible decision that is going to affect whether or not record labels provide the necessary funds for music to be created.” Previously, the Gayes’ representative told FOX he didn’t believe Thicke and Pharrell’s team would attempt an appeal. Looks like there’s going to be a lot more from the story in the near future. You can check out Howard E. King’s full exchange with FOX Business host Liz Claman below.
