Initially an electronic music festival, in 2005 NuArt made its transition to become a contemporary street and urban arts festival. Based in the humble town of Stavanger on the West Coast of Norway, founder Martyn Reed provides an annual platform where local and international artists come together to flaunt their creative spirit outside of the commercial system. Challenging onlookers to explore the loosely coined term “street art,” the murals and installations are all upheld by underlying themes that draw from social and political situations. 2014’s lineup consisted of Borondo, John Fekner, Martin Whatson, Etam Cru and many more. Check out our recap video above, and head to NuArt’s webpage for more on the festival.
