Brooklyn-based American painter Kenny Scharf presents the “Born Again” exhibition at Honor Fraser Gallery in Los Angeles. Exhibiting Scharf’s diverse artistic practice through the exposition of some of his earliest videos made between 1979 and 1984, which have been digitally transferred and enhanced from its original analog videotape format, the latest exhibition at Honor Fraser is a salon-style installation of a variety of paintings from the artist’s Born Again series. Best known for his vibrant collages and iconography, Scharf incorporates environmental messages in his works, such as FUKISHIMA LANDING and TAR BEACH, which juxtapose scenic nature backgrounds and seascapes with dark, monstrous blobs, showcasing Scharf’s concern for nuclear waste and pollution. The Kenny Scharf “Born Again” exhibition is on display now at Honor Fraser Gallery in Los Angeles until April 4.
