HYT (The Hydro Mechanical Horologists) changes the timepiece game with a brand new liquid-filled watch development. Developed in partnership with APRP (Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi), the H3 has an impressive 170-hour battery reserve. It has bellows built on opposite ends that pump phosphorescent liquid through a tube in that gradually disappears and refills in a retrograde cycle in coordination with the rotating dial every six hours. The rotating dial itself has four faces, including a 24-hour clock and a linear minute display with a red articulated arm, which has five-minute graduations. “The time is set using a push-button, located on the left of the assembly. With each press, the central time display bar turns on itself by one quarter of a turn. This ingenious principle enables the desired time period to be quickly set by jumping in periods of six hours,” the company states. The exterior of the model is finished off with charcoal grey PVD-coated titanium and platinum. The HYT H3 production is limited to 25 pieces only and will be available for purchase September 2015.
